Information for Players and What to Bring to Camp

Attending a US College Soccer ID Camp is an experience unlike any other which will change your life on and off the field. However, to make the most of your camp experience, you need to be fully prepared. Here are some tips that will help:

 

Be Physically Prepared

Try to go into camp in your best physical condition. Every moment at camp is a valuable learning experience. You want to be able to seize every opportunity to practice and learn. We all know that our ability to pay attention decreases when we are tired; our ability to train with a pulled muscle is reduced. The bottom line is that to take full advantage of everything that is offered at camp you must be in good physical shape.

 

Bring The Right Equipment

Bringing the right equipment is crucial to having a successful camp experience. Of course you will need to bring your usual training gear; jersey, shorts, socks, shin guards and shoes. However, there are plenty of other things to think about.

 

Be sure to also bring the following:

 

1. During the hot summer months you will need a fresh uniform for each session (3/day). Soccer uniforms (jerseys and shorts) are recommended. A specific uniform is not required, however US College ID Camp Custom Uniforms, can be purchased in advance online, or at camp check-in, and are recommended to purchase to wear in the evening games.


2. Cleats that are already broken in are recommended. A new pair of cleats can cause blisters.

Shin guards are also required


3. Warm-up suit and/or rain gear


4. Plenty of training tee shirts, jerseys, and shorts, and don't forget clothes to sleep in! Enough uniforms for 8-10 training sessions. Please also bring a mesh hamper for dirty clothes, which will help air out clothes that have been warn.


5. Residential Campers will need linens, blankets, & pillow for a twin size bed.


6. Flip flops or slides & towels for the showers and to wear between practice sessions


7. Bathroom items, e.g. soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste deodorant, etc.


8. A bathing suit & beach towel. Each camper will have access to the swimming pool and after a tough session the pool can feel great. Don’t forget 1-2 pairs of flip flops too!


9. An alarm clock or your cell phone alarm. You don’t want to miss breakfast!!!!


10. Bring a good amount of bug-spray and sunscreen with a very high SPF is recommended. Players are responsible for their own sun protection.


11. Spending money for evening snacks, or items at the camp store, such as additional soccer gear needed. Average camper spends approximately $50.00-$100.00 during the course of the week. A camp bank can also be set up at camp check-in, which is highly recommended to avoid money being lost or stolen. Any camp bank money unspent is refunded to you at check-out.


12. Athletic tape and wraps if you need them. There will also be a trainer on hand to assist you.


13. Bring your own soccer ball, or you can purchase a US College Soccer ID Camp Custom Ball in advance online or at check-in.

 

14. Unlimited cold water will be provided at all of our camps on the field at each session. Unlimited Powerade and Performance & Recovery Packages will also be available at select camp locations. If it is being offered at your camp location, it will be offered in the online registration process or at camp check-in.


15. An address book. The friendships you make can last a lifetime.


16. Cell Phones are permitted, but they need to be kept in the dorm rooms and used, when not at practice. Campers are responsible for keeping their cell phone in their room and are responsible if they are lost, stolen, or damaged.


17. Signed Medical Form (Only if needed)


18. There may be some other things you can think of, but if you bring all of the above you will be in good shape!
